As someone who dyes her hair I know the damage that can be caused by regular use of chemicals! Hair dyes and bleaches open up the hair cuticles so that hair dye can get in, but they also breaks hair bonds and leaves hair damaged.

For those that don’t know Olaplex is a line of hair repair treatments that reconnect broken hair bonds. The products contain an active ingredient called bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate which reconnects broken disulfide sulfur bonds in the hair.

Olaplex was designed to be used on hair that has been damaged from too much colouring, and has achieved a cult status for its amazing results. Since Olaplex is quite expensive however I went in search of some Olaplex alternatives and Olaplex dupes that get the same great results but for a better price!

This post is all about the best Olaplex alternative in the UK to get insanely glossy, shiny hair!

If you haven’t tried Olaplex before it’s amazing! I’ve been using it now for the past four months and it’s the best conditioner I’ve ever tried! It leaves your hair strong, manageable and glossy and completely eliminates frizz. It also far easier to style your hair after use. There is one drawback however. One small bottle is currently around £24! If you feel like treating yourself occasionally however it’s definitely worth it.

If you’re looking for something a bit more affordable however these are my top 11 Olaplex substitutes!

6. Schwarzkopf’s Bond Enforcing System

This three step bond enforcing system consists of a bond booster to protect the hair during the colouring process, a bond sealer to seal the outer surface of the hair for strength and shine, and a bond maintainer to improve hair quality and protect against damage.

For the best results you should use all three products however you can use the N°3 Bond Maintainer as a stand alone product to repair damaged hair.

The Schwarzkopf Fibreplex bond enforcing system is specifically designed to prevent hair from breaking during and after the colouring process.

7. Bond Angel Plex Effect

The Bond Angel Plex Effect is not cheaper than Olaplex however it’s similar and may be a good Olaplex alternative if you want to try something different. The protein in Quinoaplex is from Quinoa which is very similar to the protein found in human hair. Because of this quinoa protein bonds easily together with the hair making it stronger.
