L Oréal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss Glossing Routine for Dull Hair

I tried out all four products in the L Oréal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss range. It’s supposed to be the perfect glossing routine for dull hair, so I wanted to see whether it really lived up to the hype. Just so you know, I have thin, fine, curly hair. My hair is normally quite shiny but gets frizzy easily. I love testing out products by L’Oreal and have already tested and reviewed the Hydra Hyaluronic Acid range and the Growth Booster range.

Products in the Range

There are four different products in the Glycolic Gloss range. Below you can find details about what each one does and how to use it.

1. L’Oréal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss 5% Glossing Shampoo

This shampoo is the first step in the glossing routine. It gently cleanses the scalp and hair while beginning the shine-enhancing process. The formula helps smooth the cuticle, preparing your hair for the conditioner and lamination rinse that follow.

How to use:

  • Apply to wet hair.
  • Massage into scalp and lengths.
  • Rinse thoroughly.

2. L’Oréal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss 5% Glossing Conditioner

This conditioner works straight after shampooing to soften the hair, reduce frizz, and lock in moisture. It helps smooth the cuticle, making hair more manageable and easier to detangle before the lamination rinse step.

How to use:

  • Apply after shampooing.
  • Focus on mid-lengths and ends.
  • Leave on for 3 minutes.
  • Rinse well.

3. L’Oréal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss 5-Minute Lamination Rinse

This treatment is the star of the routine. It acts like an at-home glossing service, sealing the hair cuticle for a smooth, reflective finish. The rinse helps boost shine, reduce frizz, and leave hair with a glass-like look.

How to use:

  • Apply after shampoo and conditioner.
  • Spread evenly through the lengths.
  • Leave on for 5 minutes.
  • Rinse thoroughly.

4. L’Oréal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss 14% Glossing Leave-In Serum

This serum is the last step in the glossing routine. It provides concentrated shine while helping to control frizz and smooth the hair’s surface. Lightweight and non-greasy, it leaves hair looking polished and glossy without weighing it down.

How to use:

  • Apply a couple of drops to either dry or damp hair
  • Focus on mid-lengths and ends.
  • Do not rinse.
  • Style as usual.

My Results

The Gif below shows what my hair looked like after using all four of the products and then straightening my hair. I should have done a before and after photo, but if you look at some of my YouTube videos you can see what my hair looks like normally. My hair is usually quite shiny but also frizzy. I found that the L’Oreal Glycolic Gloss products made my hair feel sleek, glossy and smooth but I don’t think it looks any shinier than normal.
