What is the best way to detangle hair?

When detangling knotted hair you should always start at the ends of the hair and then gently work your way up. Also try to divide the hair into small sections rather than attempting to detangle large parts at a time.

To make the detangling process easier and less painful I recommend using a detangling spray and some oil to help loosen the hair. There are also things you can do to prevent your hair from becoming tangled in the first place such as sleeping on a silk pillow case, keeping your hair in braids, regularly trimming your hair, regularly combing with a wide tooth comb, and making sure your hair is well moisturised.
