I want to create a really lush space around me and I’ve decided it’s time that I not only clear out my space, but also make a visual inventory of everything I own. I’m aware that I still have too much stuff to really be living a “minimalist life” but I want to only have the things that I am actually using and not accumulating stuff over time that’s just taking up space and not being used.
I’ve read Marie Kondo’s books in the past about decluttering and I know she advises to do everything in one go, but in the past when I’ve done this I’ve found it really cathartic. I’ve decided to do one category at a time, in this order:
- Clothes, shoes and coats
- Books
- Beauty Products and supplements
- Kitchen items
- Everything else
- Digital Items
I do believe that everything in our outer world is just a mirror of what is within us. If we live in a chaotic and cluttered environment, this is a sign of a cluttered and chaotic mind.
Spiritual practices like Fengu Shui teach that clutter blocks energy flow, not just in your space, but in your life. Organised environments are linked to healthier habits, better sleep, and higher productivity.
