The below blog post was originally written in June 2019. When I first signed up for Blogpros.com I could not find a single review of Blogpros online which is why I felt I needed to write one. Here’s what happened to me…
My blog post from June 2019
Looking for a way to Promote my Blog
Blogging is new to me and it’s actually been quite a steep learning curve. I love skincare and makeup and thought it would be a great way to share this hobby with others as well as meet like-minded people. I didn’t realise how many challenges there would be, and the first major stressful challenge happened this morning. I had been doing research earlier in the week on ways to promote my blog, get noticed more and interact with more followers. I found a website online called BlogPros.com. They claim to connect with people on social media and share your blog posts as well as get real people to view your posts and share them. I did some research online to look for any Blogpros review, but couldn’t find anything. I decided to try out their 30 day free trial as I thought I had nothing to loose. I signed up and waited 3 days (even though their website says they approve applications within 48 hours).
I Signed up to Blogpros
This morning I received an email to welcome me as a new customer and tell me that they were already promoting my last blog post. I felt excited and logged onto my dashboard to see what was happening. It came up straight away to tell me that I had 43 likes on Facebook. What on earth did this mean? I went onto Facebook but I couldn’t find my blog anywhere in any search results. I emailed the company and asked them what it meant and where they were posting my blog. I knew something wasn’t right because I get most of my traffic from Facebook and when I post links to my blog on my Facebook page I get traffic to my website almost immediately. I know this because I have the Wix app on my phone and it alerts me every time someone is on my page and also tells me how many people are on the site at one time. BlogPros were telling me my blog had 43 likes and yet I hadn’t had a single visitor all day. I knew something was not right and I didn’t like the layout on their account page which gave no information whatsoever about what was going on. I emailed them again and asked them to completely delete my account and billing information. I then went onto Facebook to pay for a Facebook ad campaign instead. It was then that I realised the damage that BlogPros had done to my blog.
Blocked on Facebook by Blogpros
Facebook had blocked my website as spam as BlogPros had just been spamming people constantly and making it look like the spam was coming from my blog! I went onto my Facebook page and saw that every single one of my posts were gone. It was no wonder I hadn’t had a single visitor all day. I emailed BlogPros again and asked them to stop whatever they were doing with my blog. I haven’t heard back from them at all. I also noticed that whilst BlogPro.com has managed to get MY blog banned on Facebook, their own website is not banned!!! I have resorted to removing my domain from my website and registering a completely new domain. I feel so annoyed that I’m going to have to start again and wish now I had spoken to some more experienced bloggers who might have been able to warn me about this! I guess now I have learned a lesson that these companies who claim to promote your blog are actually not what they seem. I really hope I can help other bloggers who are starting out so they don’t go on to make the same mistakes as me! If you don’t want to get blocked on Facebook and Instagram do not use blogpros.com.
Update November 2019 – still blocked on Facebook and Instagram
It’s now six months since I first joined Blogpros.com. I completely stopped blogging when this first happened and after about a month my website was no longer blocked on Facebook. Unfortunately whenever I post a new blog post within a day my website is again blocked on Instagram and Facebook and Blogpros.com seem to still be referring my website. I know this because Blogpros.com has come up on my Google Analytics as a “referrer”. I contacted the company again and this time they did respond straight away unlike last time when there was no answer for two weeks. They just said they are no longer promoting my site. I have received no help whatsoever on how to stop them from picking up my RSS feed whenever I post a blog update and then sending spam. I have installed WordFence to see if this will work in blocking Blogpros. I will post an update if it does.
Writing bad reviews
I don’t like writing bad reviews but this experience has been so terrible for me and so frustrating that I cannot post on social media. It means it’s impossible for me to share my blog posts with friends and family on Facebook. I am also suspicious at the lack of reviews of this website online which is why I felt I had to write a Blogpros review to help stop this from happening to someone else.
If the owner of Blogpros.com would like to comment below on how to resolve this issue then I would welcome his comments and views if he is able to fix this situation.
Blogpros Review – Do you have a story?
If anyone else has any advice about how to block websites such as Blogpros from spamming your website please comment below. I am also surprised that no one else has done a review of Blogpros before now.
Blogpros Review: Update January 2020
It’s now 9 months since I joined Blogpros and my website is still blocked on Facebook. I have lost so much traffic to my website because of this and also am unable to share my posts with friends and family who use social media.
